D2M are a well-regarded product design consultancy with specific expertise in developing concepts where intellectual property is a key requirement. Our dynamic, forward thinking design team combines expertise with their knowledge of the complete product development cycle to develop new concepts cohesively. We create market-leading products across a wide range of industries including sports and leisure, mother and baby and protective equipment.
We are currently seeking a graduate product designer to be based at the Cheltenham design studio. The successful candidate would be expected to take a central role in designing and project managing the concept-to-market process for a wide range of clients from start-ups to small businesses.
You will be intricately involved in: concept generation, CAD development, prototyping, producing manufacturing specifications and overseeing the production of samples by our UK and Far East partner manufacturing companies. We will support you to gain further knowledge and skills in all areas of the design process through our training program, support from our design manager and mentoring from a more senior designer within the team.
The scope of project work is huge from small electronic products to textile products and mechanical devices. We have in-house prototyping facilities and a dedicated, highly-skilled team that helps ensure a positive working environment. As a graduate product designer, you will be expected to have a desire to learn and grow to gain the knowledge and expertise to tackle more complex projects as your career develops with D2M.
The successful candidate will be a talented, pragmatic, problem solving designer with creative flair and a drive to see products all the way through from sketch to manufactured product.
Ability to work quickly to a good standard.
Good CAD modelling (ideally Solidworks).
Strong desire and growing capability to balance form and function to create viable and appealing products.
Strong portfolio that demonstrates creative ability, a considered approach to product development and pragmatic thinking.
Ability to establish design requirements, conceptualise, plan and execute designs.
